Loopers at Dinner Club in Lititz on April 9th @ Kole Chophouse

Welcome back friends. Another Dinner Club in the books with more connections and neighbors meeting neighbors. Hopefully this digital newsletter pulls you out from behind the screen and into our community. Enjoy and I’ll see you ‘round town!

Have a Lancaster local business and want to partner with the Loop?

Children’s Business Fair &
Stormers Fan Fest

As an entrepreneur, I felt a deep sense of pride as I watched my kids grow through the "help me" phase and into the "I got this" phase.

As a dad, I love seeing them work hard and find their voices to celebrate their talents. Six years ago, I saw that shift happen in real time when I hosted an Acton Children’s Business Fair (CBF) and watched my children step up.

This Saturday, Solvit Academy (soon to be Stone Independent School) will be hosting a CBF at Penn Medicine Park. The CBF is more than just a market; it’s a launchpad for young entrepreneurs. Come see businesses that local children have created to sell their handmade products and services.

The timing couldn't be better. It’s happening right in the middle of the Lancaster Stormers Fan Fest. You get the crack of the bat, the springtime energy, ballpark food, and a variety of cool businesses run by young people.

Come out and let’s show them that in Lancaster, when you have the guts to build something, your community has your back…much like I’ve felt with the Loop!

Catch the FREE spring training game from 12-4p with all the kidpreneurs running their own businesses.

Lancaster OOO Time

Getting out of the office or just outside in general this time of year is always a full mental reset for me. The cold is *poof* gone and the buds and flowers really slow me down. In Lancaster County, we’re very lucky. We have communities that don’t just talk about nature they get out into it.

If you’re looking for a group that truly lives by the motto "doing cool things outside," you need to check out the Susquehanna Trekkers. Join them on a hike to catch a sunset over the river or tackle a new trail.

Then you have the Lancaster Hiking Club. These folks are the trail tenders of local paths. They bring a wealth of experience to the trail, offering a deep connection to the history and heritage of the Susquehanna Riverlands. Carpools leave from Buchanan Park.

Whether you’re practicing "shinrin yoku" to find some quiet or joining a group for a vigorous trek, the goal is the same: disconnect from the digital blah and reconnect with the dirt.

I found so many outdoor events this week, I pulled them from the 5Ws and listed them all here. Hope you find some inspiration to get out of office aka OOO:

Wed April 15 Guided 2-mile Hike @ Sunnyside Peninsula 6p future site of Lanc City’s first nature preserve

Thur April 16 The Making of Life on Our Planet @ Ware Ctr 630p green experts discuss - I know it’s not outside, but still it’s beautiful on the screen

Sat April 18 Leaf & Learn @ LancHistory 10-2p celebrate trees and everything green

Sat April 18 Cherry Blossom Music Festival @ Marietta 1-6p vendors, food trucks, music, beer, games, and 150 trees in bloom

Sat April 18 Earth Day Extravaganza @ Ewell Plaza by Lanc Libary 10-2p activity galore

Sat April 18 Shenks Ferry Wildflower Hike @ Conestoga 1-3p ages 8+ 2-miles gravel & dirt

Sat April 18 Red Rose Parkinson’s Walk @ Long’s Park .5 or 1 mile walking loop supporting the cause

Sat April 18 Dusty Susque’ Ride @ Endo in Marietta 9a followed by food truck at 11a and premerie of ‘Overalls’ doc at Hush Money Bikes 7p full day

Sun April 19 Enchanting Ephermerals @ Central Park 3-4p wildflower trail of natives

Sun April 19 Shinrin-yoku @ Pequea 2-4p Guided Forest Therapy walk 2 hours 1 mile
