PJ Gilman: Painting the Ressler Family Home, part of the Mascot Roller Mill in Ronks, PA
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Loopers
Years back, I started a tradition where “Larry the Leprechaun” would visit our house this day every year. Larry, brought along a bit of mischief and my kids loved to discover what he’d done or left behind. Today, is a day fillled with festivities. I hope in your travels you find your pot of gold!
So let’s dive right in!
🎨🎨 Today’s cover art is by Lancaster Local PJ Gilman. She often creates in the style of plein air painting, from the French for "open air," it’s the act of painting outdoors on-site, rather than in a studio, to capture the immediate fleeting effects of natural light, atmosphere, and color. see all PJ’s many painted lanc locations

Lancaster Volunteer Roundup
Looking to Give Back in Lancaster?
Sometimes the hardest part about volunteering is simply knowing where to look for opportunities.
The United Way of Lancaster County’s “Get Connected” portal solves that problem!
It’s essentially a one-stop hub for volunteer opportunities across Lancaster County. Animal rescues, food banks, mentoring kids, helping at museums, conservation work…find the need that syncs with you.
You can filter by interest, location, skillset, or even age, making it easy to find something that fits your time, heart, or abilities.
Got a few hours? There’s a need.
Got a specific skill? There’s a place for it.
In my short time here, I’ve seen that Lancaster is a community that shows up for each other. This is just another way to support a neighbor.
Take a look and find a way to lend a hand

Lara & Danielle are world-class Mahjong teachers and will lead our learning and playing.

What is Mahjong?
Think a mix of cards, dominoes, and a little bit of strategy magic. Both social and competitive, it’s mix of community building and brain gaming.
Already know how to Mahjong and want to play with other Loopers?
West Art will also opening their doors to future open play beginning May 5th and every first Tuesday thru the summer. More details to come.
West Art is a multi-purpose, ever-evolving community and cultural space housed within a historic church. Featuring events, music, clubs and a full drink and coffee bar.
Sign ups are offically open. The tiles are calling!

Lancaster Loop Love
I usually have a clip here about supporting me and the Loop.
Today however, I’m highlighting the Lancaster MusiCorps. I attended their fundraiser event, Paint the Town Green, this past Friday the 13th. It’s always been a great joy of mine to listen and hear my two children learn to play instruments.
MusiCorps supports kids in our community who want to learn music but simply can’t afford lessons or instruments. MusiCorps gives them that chance by connecting them with teachers, instruments, and mentorship.
The Loop is human-curated, always from the heart, and loveably-lanc-local. Many thanks & alliterations for any support!
MusiCorps is $2,180 away from their funding goal. If you’ve ever received value from the Loop please consider donating directly to MusiCorps. Many thanks friends.

Where’s Wal’Ed’O?
Back-to-back weeks of 100% correct guesses. Last week, even though I thought I blurred out enough of the signage, Route 66 was still the CLEAR location. Owner, Mash and his Chicken Tandoori or Tikka Cheesesteaks, are clearly a fan fav.
This week we have two winners, you’ll both receive a gift card to Route 66 in your email later today. Out of 80 guesses, fun to see two Js win!
Congrats Jeff D. and Jenn T.
Go for the smash burgers stay for a new twist on cheesesteaks.

Here’s a clue: It’s been in the family for a loooooong time!
As always thanks for staying…in the ‘Loop! -Ed
P.S. If you enjoyed today’s edition, forward this email to someone who you’d like to walk a trail with this spring (T-3 days).
Random ‘Today in History’ fact: Today isn’t just about green beer. It’s also the day in 1845 that the rubber band was patented. And 264 years ago, in 1762, the first St. Patrick’s Day parade was held by Irish soldiers serving in the British Army as they marched through New York. The melting pot was already simmering.
